There are many forms of Qing dynasty lampstands. The high stand (lideng), also called dengtai,...

This square stool made in the Qing Dynasty is equipped with a pear rattan surface. The stool is 51 centimeters in height, 67 centimeters in length and 67 centimeters in width. The four sides of the surface are edged with frames, supported by two arch-shaped bars. The aprons below the stool are engraved with cloud motifs. The four splayed legs are square inside and round outside, with the outside having two overlapped sections due to three raised lines.

The arched bars between the legs are shaped like curved clouds, with the middle being slightly concave. With the decorative arched bars, the making of the stool is somewhat different from those in the Ming Dyansty.
