Originating in the Qing Dynasty, Duobaoge is fairly special array-type furniture to store precious artistic antiques. So it is also called “curio shelf”, ten-thousand-treasure shelf, or hundred-treasure shelf.

Duobaoge is a kind of furniture that emerged and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. It is simple and unsophisticated, elegant and pretty-looking in style, concise, natural and vivid in structure, lucid and smooth in lines. The cases or shelves of Duobaoge may vary at will in number, size and shape. The rich varieties of shapes include square, concave or convex shapes arranged randomly yet looking orderly, natural and changeable. Duobaoge mainly has two functions: one is for interior decoration, a Duobaoge placed at home displaying articles of curios or artworks will certainly add a cultural flavor to the room; the other is that it can serve as a compartment, which shows the owner’s taste and yet is of practical uses. Whatever style of decoration a room may choose, the arrangement of a Duobaoge will certainly add a magical touch, presenting an air of elegance in the room.

Duobaoge is universally acclaimed as one of the furniture types that possess the strongest feature of the Qing Dynasty furniture.
