The palm exercise is a flexible and changeable boxing during attack with roots in one's hands and feet. Its power is originated from one's legs, dominated by one's waist, and presented on one's fingers. The palm exercise is divided into several types, such as vertical palm, horizontal palm, direct palm, side palm, and yin-yang (negative and positive) palm. All the above palm exercises require one to keep four fingers abreast while crook the thumb and keep it close to the edge of the palm. Another posture of the palm exercise is to slightly crook the tips of the five fingers which look like tiger's claws. Although the palm exercises are different in postures, ways of practicing are the same. When take an offensive, one should use fingers to stab the enemy's throat at fist, and then press the palm down. When take the palm away, make a loud shout to give the enemy a start.
